PSTAD workshop in full swing

Partners in the Promoting Science and Technology for Agricultural Development (PSTAD) project met at Accra on 24 January for a week-long workshop to share and discuss the final recommendations of the Mid-term Review (MTR) of the project that took place in June 2010. The meeting attracted 65 participants from over 30 countries.

FARA received a grant from the African Development Bank (AfDB) through the PSTAD project. This grant provides financial support to two of FARA’s regional initiatives based on the demands of its stakeholders, RAILS and DONATA. PSTAD has two overarching objectives:

•  Build research knowledge management capacity within participating national systems of Africa
• Establish pathways for dissemination of improved technologies and good agricultural practices across the continent

The goal is to increase agricultural production and thereby contribute to the achievement of food security and poverty reduction in the beneficiary countries and Africa as a whole. More...
